Sunday travel (Summer 2024)

If you've been wanting to use the Ribble Valley's trains on Sundays this summer you'll have noticed the lack of service.

The cause remains the Sundays Voluntary Working Agreement with the RMT Union and a great shortage of drivers volunteering to work on Sundays. An executive decision has been taken by Northern to concentrate what drivers are available on to a very few routes. The details of all routes affected are posted on the Northern website several days before. We encourage everyone to plan ahead and check journeys before travelling.
