You’ll probably remember that the Dalesrail service in 2023 was cancelled. Along with many other bodies, we met with Northern Trains and had long discussions.

Effectively the replacement, the Yorkshire Dales Explorer has been running since summer 2024.

It provides a Saturdays Only service between Rochdale and Ribblehead via Manchester Victoria, Bolton, and Clitheroe. The service will operate year-round.
